How two strangers ended up here
“He texted the wrong number. I replied anyway. That was three years ago.”
Alice grew up in Shropshire and moved to London to work in publishing. James is from Edinburgh and arrived in the city the same autumn, starting a new role in architecture. They met through mutual friends at a birthday dinner in Islington that neither of them particularly wanted to attend.
The proposal came on a rainy Thursday in April, at the kitchen table over pasta, which Alice maintains is better than any grand gesture could have been. James had other plans. The pasta was ready first.
We are getting married in June at Stoke Park, where Alice’s parents celebrated their own anniversary seventeen years ago. We are enormously glad you are joining us.
